A trip in which only the most daring dare to embark. And visiting Peru is already an adventure in itself. Discover one of the oldest cultures on earth, walk where they walked, admire the majesty of Machu Picchu...

However, those who want to further the idea of authenticity of the experience, can explore the country in cargo ships overflowing with hammocks that surf along the Amazon River.

A unique experience in which to be enveloped by its misty forests, its paramo and wild aura.

Amazonas Cruise

Departing from Iquitos, in the interior of Peru, surrounded by jungle and river. This is a different trip, because of the wide channel that leads to the springs of the Amazon, passing through the confluence of large (gigantic) rivers that provide their waters. A cruise through the plains of the jungle, between lagoons with floating gardens, towering trees and very few visitors.

The Amazon is born in the Peruvian andes, more than 3000 meters high. He arrives to Nauta and Iquitos after avoiding heights and drawing a map full of zigzagging meanders, while changing his name: Lloqueta, Apurímac, Ene, Tambo, Ucayali, Marañón and Amazonas.

Throughout the journey you will be surprised to see numerous small houses on the banks of the river and its canals.

They usually leave their inhabitants with their small boats to meet the ship. Normally hoping to pick up used clothes or anything that is offered to them.

Although it is not a time of storms, it may suddenly start to fall curtain of water that prevents seeing beyond a couple of meters.

But you will also enjoy the most amazing sunsets and sunrises you've ever seen. Even at night you can see in the distance a multitude of lightning that creates an incredible light show. Of course, this trip consists in enjoying essentially the phenomena of nature.

Touring these rivers, which form the largest river basin on the planet and extends over 7,200 kilometers from the heights of Peru to the waters of the Atlantic, requires taking into account certain tips to make a cruise through the Amazon and take advantage of the full experience:
  • Take your passport, credit cards, health vouchers and important papers in a waterproof case.
  • Put on repellent all over your body (even under your clothes) every time you visit outside of the boat, and take it in the excursion backpack to get back in after an hour
  • Always wear cotton clothes, not synthetic fabrics. Always wear sleeveless clothes and long legs. Always wear shoes or boots that cover the entire foot well (no sandals, no open shoes).
  • Do not forget a good hat.
  • Try the cameras, phones, video cameras before you arrive. Carry all the chargers, extra batteries and adapters needed. It carries many memory cards ... many. They will never be enough.
  • The jungle seems close, it is, but among the immeasurable scene of a thousand greens, your eyes can lose these and a thousand more details. I said: take the binoculars.
  • If you visit a community, try not to judge, do not take a prejudiced or distant look. Learn from the experience with closeness and kindness, as much as you will receive.
