Lares Trek Peru South America

If you did not find space to make the Inca Trail this route is highly recommended because in your journey you You will see beautiful landscapes and meet people typical of the area who still maintain their customs and also has as final destination the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.

Lares is the name of a small village north of Cusco, a beautiful place to make an Inca trail. We started in the Sacred Valley of the Incas (in Huarán). We will climb the narrow part and we will have the opportunity to see stone houses with thatched roofs surrounded by herds of llamas, alpacas and guinea pigs.

The road is moderate compared to the Inca Trail. This road has two steps of 4000 meters or 1313 meters, 200 feet so it is advisable to spend 3 to 4 days in Cusco before the trip.

In this trip the walk is about 7 to 8 hours a day at a height of 2900 meters above sea level, where we will have breathtaking panoramic views of different snow-capped mountains, as well as beautiful lagoons. We will camp in a community where we can appreciate the art and textiles that are preserved in these places.

Lares trek is one of the alternatives to Inca Trail where you will appreciate the Andes of Cusco

We will begin a small walk towards the impressive lake where the beautiful waterfall of Pausi empties its waters. Our trail takes us right, we will pass through many small waterfalls and later we will follow an original Inca stone path. When we reach the Pachacuteq pass at 4500m, we will have wonderful views of the snowy peaks of Pitusiray (5750m.) And Chicon (5500m.). Looking down, we can see Suirococha Lake located in the vicinity of Villa Cancha Cancha (3800), our last camp.
