inca trail machu

It is an ancient and remote trail alternative to the Inca Trail, has much more spectacular views and with diverse ecological floors we will walk between lagoons, impressive snows like Salkantay and Humantay, crossing the rivers and subtropical zones of abundant vegetation and fauna. This route is an excellent option for those who wish to escape from the most congested routes and in a faster way, or for those who are looking for an alternative when the spaces of the traditional Inca Trail are occupied.

This impressive tour passes beneath the magnificent Salkantay Mountain (6,710 m / 22,014 ft), one of the highest and most impressive in the Peruvian Andes. Its first two days will be dominated by the impressive snows of Salkantay and Humantay, as it travels through the high Andean landscape. The third day will descend to the warm cloud forest, to reach Aguas Calientes the fourth day. The impressive sacred citadel of the Incas Machu Picchu is visited during the last day of the program. This excursion is an interesting alternative for those who have not found space on the route of Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. The excursion to Salkantay was recently named by the National Geographic Adventure Travel magazine among the top 25 tours in the world.

The itinerary of salkantay is of 5 days beginning by soraypampa following with the open of salkantay continuing with the beach and after the visit to llactapata ending in machu picchu

Recommendation:

Acclimatization is necessary in Cusco, two days before starting the tour. For a good acclimatization it is necessary to rest as much as possible, to eat little, to drink abundant liquid; Especially the mate of coca that has known healing and digestive properties. Adequate acclimatization prevents it from affecting "soroche" or altitude sickness, which could cause numerous discomforts to health.
